This interesting full day tour is a great opportunity to discover the charming area of Brenta river (the area of your hotel) and the beautiful city of Padova.Following the Brenta river ( that connect Venice to the city of Padua) you’ll discover many old villas that were in the past (XVI-XVII century) residences of nobles Venetians and symbols of richness.The Brenta Riviera is also characterized from the small picturesque towns.
First stop will be Villa Foscari “La Malcontenta” (the Palladium Villa ) .Second stop will be at the Villa Widdmann and the restored Barchessa in Mira both dating the early 18th century: a tour follow by a local expert guide will give you the possibility to admire these examples of beautiful French rococo style enriched by frescoes and the huge garden with cypress, horse-chestnut trees and statues of gods and cupids. Following the river we you arrive at 3rd stop: Villa Pisani in Strà:
This sumptuous building is the most famous Villa of all Riviera, built in the 18th century was the magnificent villa of Doge Pisani. We can thing this magnificent building as a small Versailles, the magnificent architecture has both classical and baroque elements and crowned the wide park with statues, buildings ( the ice-house, the lemon-house) and the mysterious labyrinth. The rooms contain frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo.
After that the tour continue to Padua. The optional lunch is organized in the morning with the driver who can suggest nice restaurant or little trattoria following your preference. In the afternoon you’ll visit Padua with his historical monuments: S.Antonio and the Eremitani church, the ancient squares, the Scrovegni Chapel ( optional ).At the end of this beautiful day, enjoy the drive back to your hotel. * The Scrovegni Chapel must be reserved at least 24hours before the tour.
