The tour includes a visit to the medieval villages located by the foothills before Dolomites in the Treviso area: here in the past the history of Venice and the powerful Venetian families strongly intertwined, leaving everywhere in this area evidences and symbols that contribute to the beauty and mystery of these places.
Art and history are its main features and Palladio’s Villa Barbaro contributes significantly to its artistic relevance.
In this geographical context the culinary and handmade excellences, such as grappa, prosecco and ceramics make this hilly territory even more fascinating and one of the top tourist destinations all over the world.
In the morning the tour includes a first stop on the Valdobbiadene hills: immersed in the green vineyards, you can taste the most delicious brands of wines produced in this area.
You will visit a family run winery: you will perceived their passion for wine and the difference it makes compared to industrial production.
The second stop will be the Palladian Villa Maser, an architectural pearl, and a prelude to the arrival in Asolo, a small town perched on a hill and one of the most beautiful in Italy, where history and literature intertwine: it will be like a leap in the past and its important Roman and medieval remains together with its history strongly linked to the Most Serene Republic of Venice will make you appreciate even more your stay in Venice. Once you leave Asolo, with its magnificent past and breathtaking views, you will arrive in Bassano del Grappa, where you will have free time for lunch or to stroll around the town. We will suggest you to eat in a typical restaurant where you can enjoy excellent traditional dishes immersed in a historic location.
Immediately after lunch, you will visit the old town and a half-hour walk will take you to Ponte degli Alpini, another work related to Palladio with a crucial historic meaning: it is a place closely linked to the war, as witnessed by its War museum.
Here you can also enjoy (optional) a tasting of grappa, our typical digestive spirit.
Last (but not least) stop is Marostica, a beautiful and well preserved medieval town where everything is reminiscent of the Middle Ages: here every two year in September takes place the famous “Battle of chess” featuring people dressed in period costumes. The perfect conclusion to a great tour.
